Spiced Apple & Pear Crumble

A fantastic winter warmer


300g apples, peeled, cored & sliced
300g pears, peeled, cored & sliced
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp clear honey
2 tbsp water
For the topping
100g plain flour
1 level tsp mixed spice
50g sunflower spread
2 tbsp granulated sugar
15g mixed nuts, chopped


Preheat the oven to 200C/Gas 5.

Put the fruit in a 1 litre overnproof dish and sprinkle over the sugar.  Drizzle over the honey and the water.

Sift the flour and spice into a bowl, add the sunflower soread and rub together with your fingertips until it resembles breadcrumbs.  Stir in the sugar and the chopped nuts.

Spoon the topping over thr fruit and bake for 35-45 mins, until golden brown and the fruit is cooked.
