Spiced Crab Cakes

A fantastic starter with a bit of a kick!.

½ red pepper , finely diced
½ red onion , finely diced
200g white crabmeat
a pinch cayenne pepper
Dash Tabasco sauce
½ tsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp mayonnaise
50g fresh breadcrumbs


Mix the red pepper and the red onion and fry in 1 tbsp of oil until softened and allow to cool.

In another bowl, mix the crabmeat with the Tabasco, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise and breadcrumbs. Combine the red pepper mix and the crab mix. Form into  small cakes and chill for 20 minutes.

Heat a little olive oil in a pan then fry the cakes for 3-4 minutes each side until golden.

Serve with side salad.
